Installation:
- Position a large
drain pan under the differential to catch the old gear lube.
- Remove the existing
bolts, starting at the bottom.
- Using a gasket
scraper, start at the bottom of the cover and carefully insert
between the cover and gear housing and slightly pry cover and
let fluid drain.
- Using a gasket
scraper, carefully remove all of the old gasket materials (dried
silicon) from the housing.
- Use a clean rag to
clean and wipe down any remaining oil from inside the housing.
The gasket surface must be clean and flat in order for Oasis
Differential Cover to seal properly.
- Check the gasket
matting surface on the housing for irregularities, such as dents
or gouges. Should these exist, be sure to remove the high spots
using a smooth, flat file.
- Proper fitment of
the Oasis Differential Cover is the customers/installers
responsibility. Please make sure cover clears any and all
possible outside interference. i.e. Spare tire, anti-sway bar,
brake cables, etc. Please do not tighten bolts or damage cover
before installation has been checked or cover can not be
returned.
- Promptly add RTV
sealant, the sealant should run around the inside of the bolt
holes.
- Bolt the Oasis
Differential Cover on with the hardware provided. Tighten in a
cross tight pattern and torque to manufacturers suggested
weight. ( check your manual for torque specifications)
- Be sure to tighten
Drain plug and Filler plug and be sure Teflon tape is intact.
